weekend fun

So many days have past since, I last had a chance to write in here. Busy as usual. But of course very fun filled. My days off were spent wonderfully and productive for the most part. However, looking up wedding reception info went down the drain when our internet went down for almost two days. Who knew how much I used the internet throughout the day until I had no access to it. However, it may have been a small blessing in disguise. I think I did find the reception venue of my dreams. The Weingarten! The in-laws, the man, and I went down there on Saturday night for Weinstock: Wine For a Cure. It was gorgeous out and so much fun too. And let me tell you, the wedding area along with the reception venue is amazing. I would love to have it there. The price is in our budget. They have what we all need. I am just praying it all works out for the best.

Weingarten during the day time.

Weingarten at night! I love the twinkle lights!

PINK CAT RIESLING was the bottle of choice to help raise money for the fight against breast cancer. How cute is it?

Isn't it just beautiful. I just fall in love right away. Needless to say it was a good week. Not to mention Friday night, the handsome man that will soon become my husband! *insert girly squeal here* took me out for an awesome date night on Friday. How awesome is that? Winery and dinner all in the same weekend? Oh ya know we are pretty cool like that. Look at this new dinner hot spot we picked.

This restaurant was so much fun. Dewey's is down in the heart of old Kirkwood. They have all this yummy pizza. One thing that made my night was that they had white sauce and red sauce pizzas. So there is always something for everyone. To make this an even cooler place, you can do half and half for pizza. Half red sauce and half white sauce, which made a perfect night for me and my hot date. He loves his red sauce, while I like my white sauce. Their salad is even yummy. A summer peppercorn ranch is amazing.

The man's pizza! It was loaded!

He likes to think he is a photographer!

Before I close out this post. Remember last blog when I talked about the super hero shirts for all the groomsmen? Well, they all found out the idea. And needless to say it was a pretty big hit for all of them. Mueller Wedding 2013 is going to be pretty darn awesome!

lists

So, today is a day for lists. Lists for shopping, lists for to dos around the house, and lists that need to be completed for wedding planning. Me and list kinda have a love hate relationship. I do love seeing things slowly being checked off and crossed off but other times it seems like a uphill battle just to scratch one item off the long list. No, I am not saying that I am lazy. It is just I tend to, well how do I put it, I tend to get a little bit side tracked with something that seems to come across and more fun. I am sure you all can relate to that at least in one moment of your life or another.

Another thing to point out about today and I should realize this more often. It is amazing how much one person can get done this early in the morning. I got off work at 7:30am, made it home by 8am, and it is 10am now and I have a clean room, pictures hung and hey would you look at that my list is begging to get smaller already! Amazing right?!?!

Seriously, how amazing is this guy? Having a photographer there when we got engaged!

I have a feeling a Starbucks trip will be in my future. If you haven't noticed, Starbucks and I have a very close bond. Between caramel lattes, iced coffees, and passion tea lemonades, I became a Gold Member. Now, I am just anxiously awaiting for it to arrive in the mail! I may squeal with excitement when I receive it.

How appropriate for me?

Okay, back to lists. All my lists have something in regards to wedding and wedding reception venues. I am going over to hang with the man later and hopefully when my list is a lot smaller to work on stuff. Ya know, we both with have our Macs up on our laps and working on stuff. Gosh, I feel all grown up.  But, I did find a few more ideas for the wedding. Some of which he absolutely agreed is a must

Yes, he loves the glasses, the super hero shirts, the beers...but the pink socks is a no.

And for all of you wondering how I stay awake all night at work...no Starbucks isn't the answer. Because in St. Louis I have yet to find a 24 hour Starbucks. However, sometimes the patients we see help with the entertainment for the night. But we sometimes have other help as well!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Ups and Downs (wedding planning)

So right now me and the man are in the process of tracking down the perfect reception place. Let me tell you that is one big nightmare. Each place has their own ups that trump the other one. The man and the parents want more for the money, but I love the looks too. So frustrating. And then trying to find the one that fits your style, price, and date...well what a royal nightmare.

I am off the work Thursday, Friday, & Saturday and I am hoping to sit down and knock out some major wedding planning things. Like calling reception venues. Visiting reception venues. Putting together a finished guest list. Trying to finish putting together my wedding binder. I have a list, and oh how I would love to sit down and accomplish it.

I have a collection of over 25 bridal magazines thanks to my awesome bridesmaids and friends!

My goal, is to sit down in the early morning after work either on my back porch under the shade of the super cute umbrella or outside of a starbucks watching the sun peak thru the clouds and type away. Weddings should be so much fun, and yet I feel as if mine is just dragging on.

On the plus side of wedding planning, the man and I picked out wedding colors! Yay! I love the colors and I love it even more because he likes them too. Are you ready? Black & White as the main colors and then Hot Pink as the accent color! So trendy, modern, and fun! Seriously, we have all these crazy fun ideas for the wedding. But once again it all depends on the wedding reception venue. And we live in good old St. Louis. There are tons of fun places for wedding receptions but we are running into is price against already booked. Seems like a lot of other St. Louis brides are wanting to seal the deal in April! But anyway, here are a few of the ideas and pictures that we are basing the whole wedding around.

The man will have the white jacket on. And all the boys will have hot pink ties instead of white! LOVE!
I just love the idea of balloons, don't you?

I love the black and white pattern. i am thinking yes for it for wedding invites and programs. And the pink umbrellas! Yes PLEASE!

So I am sure I will be collecting even more fun ideas as the days go on...and I have that reception venue booked. In time. I think you will all learn as time goes on, I am not the most patient person around. I tend to wish things came easy. Well, sometimes not all the time. But this whole wedding planning thing is such a time to test me and push me. In a good way of course. And let me tell you I am so blessed to have a man who loves me and wants to be involved in all the details of the wedding. From colors, to the bridal party, to the reception venue and the vows. He has already been so supportive and creative. We make such a good team!

And all you brides and wives? And advice for us as we continue on this spectacular journey of wedding planning?

inspired

Okay, so I have become obsessed with the idea of story telling and journalling (yes I do consider that I word!) and sharing pictures to everyone who cares to join in on this fasitnating adventure of my life. all 365 days a year that I laugh, joke, yell, cry, smile, and so on and so on.

So, what has this whole new blogging experience opened for me? Other bloggers! It is amazes the stories people have to share that are touching and funny and all the things in between. This is all a learning experience. Growing. Watching others grow. Watching families bloom. An online support system through people who have never met. I hope as I begin this journey, I can learn and grow just as bloggers have now.

That I can learn from those already...blogging and help others down the road. If the man is reading this now, I am totally sure he is snickering a laugh because I tend to get these crazy ideas and then run with them before he ever has a time to bring me into the circle of reality. But I'm serious this time! :)

I want to leave footsteps. Tell stories. Show where I have been and where I want to go.

It's a dream right now...but I can make it happen if I just believe.
